Here’s our journey through the year:

January

The new calendar year began with a surge of energy and opportunity. We shared practical guidance on VAT management strategies and payroll best practices, helping businesses streamline processes, stay compliant, and prepare for the months ahead. January also saw a wave of new business launches, and we were delighted to support start‑ups with tailored support, software setup, and financial planning. We also covered PAYE portal changes and shared insights on tax updates, ensuring our clients stayed ahead of HMRC requirements. May

As summer approached, May’s focus was on tax deadlines, payroll changes, and cashflow optimisation. Slowly moving towards the end of summer, August was a time for reflection and fresh starts. In addition, we highlighted the importance of embracing digital tools like Xero and BrightPay to streamline everyday processes, reduce errors, and save valuable time. We shared practical tips for strengthening cashflow management during the quieter summer months and offered advice on preparing for the busy autumn period, ensuring our clients stayed one step ahead.

October

October was a landmark month for DS Business Support. We delved into the digital evolution of bookkeeping, highlighting how AI and automation are reshaping financial management and giving businesses smarter, faster insights. We also published guidance on the new Companies House identity verification reforms, ensuring directors and PSCs were well prepared for the compliance changes ahead.

To top it off, we were nominated for The Circular Economy Award at the Good Small Business Awards 2025. A recognition that celebrates our commitment to sustainable practices and innovative business support. November

November was a month of celebration and recognition for DS Business Support. We proudly announced our Award of Excellence win, a milestone that reflects our team’s dedication to quality, consistency, and client care. This achievement underscored the trust our clients place in us and highlighted our ongoing commitment to raising standards in bookkeeping and compliance.

Alongside the celebrations, we continued to deliver practical value by sharing updates on identity verification requirements and upcoming compliance reforms, ensuring businesses were well prepared for regulatory changes. By combining industry recognition with proactive client guidance, November showcased both our leadership in the sector and our unwavering focus on helping businesses stay secure and compliant.

We closed out the year with festive updates and practical guidance. December brought the latest HMRC advisory fuel rates, reminders for AML client check‑ins, and our holiday office closure notice to keep everyone informed. We also reflected on the year’s milestones, from embracing new technologies like biometric verification and Xama, to winning awards and expanding our services. December was not just about wrapping up the year; it was about celebrating how far we’ve come and setting the stage for an even stronger 2026.

A quick reminder that our office will be closed Tuesday 23rd December to Friday 26th December (reopen Monday 29th) & Wednesday 31st December to Friday 2nd January (reopen Monday 5th).
